Preparing for Vietnam - Lonely Planet is the way to go...

[en] i’m pretty excited. im considering a trip to vietnam. by coincidence, my partner in crime (well, travelling – potentially) and i hit on the topic of travelling somewhere together. his aim – to see a corner of asia. my aim? to see a corner of asia i don’t know yet – through the viewfinder, putting it into the frame…
it so happens that my travel partner, if we end up going, is my father. it is of course excellent that we have the same interest – people, culture, landscapes, life, ethnics… this trip will be a very special experience, i’m sure. thus, i have started studying the country a bit. no better place to start then with the lonely planet guide. so much information well sorted and up to date. and a website that is so plentiful with any kind of info you may want. one stop shopping so to say.
anyway, we have decided to go end of april, beginning of march timeframe. because we only have two weeks, we have decided to concentrate on one area. we picked the north. now the planning starts. so far, we assume we’ll be flying to hanoi, and renting a vehicle and driver…

i’ll update you with more as soon as we know more! look into my blog again soon for an update! by the way, if you have any tips for me pertaining to the north of vietnam, why don’t you send me a mail to daniel [at] intheframe.ch. any up-to-date info is very appreciated. i’ll also be updating the status of my planning on twitter. follow me there if you like.

and yes, i’m sitting in a bathtub… long story. lets not go there.

thx
